Hey JJ, check this out.. I went down to river to let my dog run wild and burn off some energy.
I spoke to guy who has been up to the highlines, he was just coming off on a 4 wheeler and said he had very good results on crappies.Lots of small ones, but enough keepers to keep fishing up there.
Small jigs and crappie minnows have been the ticket!
Another friend who has been out, on bayport point and across on wis.shanty town and has had some luck, but most crappies have been small.
Once again small jigs/crappie minnows and patience!
There are fish out there,u need to be willing to move and try different colors, sizes to know what they want.
I know of a few small walleyes that have been caught while fishing crappies out there to..

I’d like to try those spots but don’t have a wheeler to drag my stuff up there, that’s why I fish close to the break in Bayport until I can get my truck out there.

Anyone going out there friday that has a wheeler and could drag me and my stuff along? I’ll be out friday morning and probably afternoon and saturday as well and maybe sunday. Unless someone would like to make a run to mille lacs on friday???

I was planning on getting out on the river soon. Just waiting for some SAFE ice. When you plan on getting out there? I was also going to try spot “X” that we fished a little last year. Looks like some crazy person has driven from WI to MN on the river the one and only set of tracks I saw. That guy is more “brave” than me.
