July 4th quick update Walleyes and sauger fishing is going well, fish are active in 18 to 22 feet on livebait crawlers and leeches on rigs and spinners. These game fish are starting to relate to the now larger young of the year shad. Decided to fish on the Fourth after all, and did an early morning half day trip, a quick get in get out, and happily hammered the fish catching over a dozen legal walleye and sauger. River level is 676.69 in Stillwater, MN and falling, with visibility clearing. Turk Gierke
