From what I’ve seen the River has been very productive latley. Rigging Crawlers or Leeches in 18-26 ft has been putting plenty of fish in the boat.

Follow Turks tips and key in on these depths and you should be able to put some eaters in the boat.

I’m not giving up yet. Last year I found good action through mid-July and with things still behind last year….I will keep trying.

Was out with the kids last night, anchored up at Catfish and were able to pull 8-10 shorts out. Biggest was 14, but we didn’t try very hard, move, and only had leeches for the quick trip.

Me and a buddy were out Sunday morning from 6 to about 9:30 and managed 4 eaters, a few shortys and plenty-o-sheepheads, even a catfish, rock bass and a whitey or two. Tough to put together a good pattern in that time, but what seemed to work best for us was around 15 FOW on top of the sharper-breaking flats pulling spinner/crawlers and jig/minnows. Pretty windy, but a good morning nonetheless. We’ll see about Friday morning, I’m guessing it’s gonna be a zoo out there, but I plan to get out early!

I hope it hasn’t ended, it never really started for me. I haven’t had time to get out since the water was high and the launch closed. I’ll be on lake Michigan the next 4 days catching Kings so I won’t be able to get on the river until Tuesday. I typically do pretty good well into July. Everyone have a safe and fun weekend and we’ll see you back on the Croix next week.
