I noticed that you said a Dubuque Rig would be a good bet to catch some eyes. From what I understand a Dubuque Rig is a 3 way with a heavy jig instead of a sinker on the bottom.

How heavy is the jig you use? The largest Jig at the Gander in Woodbury is 3/4 oz is this large enough? If not where do you buy these larger jigs?

Please forgive me for my ignorance when walleye fishing . I grew up fishing for bass and sunnies in farm ponds in Illinois. These picky walleye are still a mystery

Right now with the low water flow, I’ve been using a 1/4 ounce on the bottom and a floating jig head on the top. If you have problems with bottom contact, bump up a size until you can consistenly feel the bottom. The problem I seem to have is the two lines tangling on the way up, haven’t been able to figure that one out yet.

I was having the same problem with the line’s twisting to eachother. Shorten your dropper to about a foot. I was with Tuck when it was happening and that’s what he told me to do.

Thanks Chappy, I’ll have to give that a try. I’m surprised that we haven’t bumped into each other on the croix yet. I run a red lund rebel with a merc 40 on the back. I am usually accompied by a yellow lab who is really white doing the titanic pose off the front. I swear that dog is going to fall out one of these days, but he likes the wind in his hair.

I had a dog do that once! Only once though,He did’nt appreiciate getting pushed under the water by the boat when his front feet slipped. I’m running the 1750 fish hawk with the for sale sign on it. Usually have a chocolate lab along.By the way ,nothing happened to the dog.

Hey Chappy, I think that if it was your dog it was probably trying to commit suicide. How would you like to have a master w/ a lime green t-shirt????

Did the dog keep jumping in front of the gun too??? Can you imagine all the crap that dog gets from his doggie friends when you show up with that lime green shirt and he is the one on the leash?
