I had the opportunity to get out on the Croix yesterday with a good friend of mine Kevin. We started out up at the Kinney area, the first fish we landed was 16 1/2″ that was encouraging. Then lot’s of 14’s. So the move was on, we ended up down by Prescott and proceeded to boat an additional 11 legal’s ranging from 15 to 19 1/2 all in all it was a great day. All of the fish we caught were Walleye’s except for 2 Saugers. Also everything caught was while trolling crankbaits. We were going to go again today but did’nt want to fight the monsoon wind’s. Good luck out there in the up and coming weeks. I will be out next week at least a couple times during the week. Will try and give a report then.

    Thanks for the report twisted!
I was scratching my head all day yesterday, wondering if the wind was going to go down. Todays another day and I know there’s a walleye out there with “Dinner” written on it’s forehead just waiting for me!

Let us know how you do

Your report sounds twisted after yesterday. Neither my buddy or I caught a single walleye in that area and we each had our boats out. I guess they turned off. We will keep trying.

We were using Firetiger and clown colored Raps fishing in about 18 feet of water. When they hit it was usually doubles and they were very aggressive. Which leads me to believe that they were starting to school up. Good Luck

Were you using #5 or #7? I have switched over to #7 pretty much all the time along with some other good sized cranks.

We were using #5’s and fishing just off the edge of the breaks.

We fished Sat AM in the wind upstream from Kinni Narrows. Caught (5) ‘eyes – (3) legal and lots of silver bass.
