Looks like I’m heading out and launching at bluff park tonight, any hints or tips on what to use or where to fish, I suppose I start long lining some jointed raps, firetiger, and craw pattern. Probably switch up to a lindy one with a crawler and one with a leech. I’ll post later on my results meanwhile any tips?

AHHH not much luck out there tonight, lindy rigs were getting hits, missed quite a few fish, only got 2 in the boat one mooneye (i think they are called, dunno first time I’ve ever seen one) and one small cat. Mostly worked the lindy rig setup in 8-9 feet of water, maybe should’ve been deeper, nothing on the jointed shad, or regular jointed rap, I did get a nice hit on the regular jointed but missed that fish too

    MN-RST-Rider,
It’s funny but we often answer our own questions, I often do, as did you…That bluff area is very good for fish and likely working the same spots but deeper would have turned more fish… Small sucker minnows are also a top bait as the water goes on a slow cool, I troll alot but if you can get your hands on quality large minnows don’t be afraid to use them.. the big eyes LOVE them, and sadly small saugers too!!!

Also keep the leader a bit shorter than a summer time crawler rig leader length.

    Keep catchin’

Also when trolling this time of year, I like to try to match the colors of my cranks to there main forage, SHAD. Locating these schools of bait will put you in the mix of lots of others fish besides walleyes/saugers. Muskies, Silver Bass and many other species are here(even Catfish), so hang-on.

    Hey Pfluggy,
The only thing I can suggest is that you take the guide who put you on fish up on Little Boy…she really pulled through with the fish.
