St. Croix Bluffs ramp report

I put in at St. Croix Bluffs last night (July 29th) and dragged the heck on the bottom of my month old trailer. I was using the far West side of the landing, which should be the deepest. The water is deep enough to launch but the low water and the angle of the ramp was a bad combination for a Alumacraft TP 185 and a Shorelander roller trailer. I did see more than one guy get physically hung on the ramp, spin tires, and need to get pushed out.

Fishing was pretty good considering all the traffic.

I was there two weeks ago and had the same problem dragging my spare tire bracket. I got a Ranger Reata and the people at Ranger seem to think mounting the spare tire under the trailer was a good idea?? Loading the boat was fun only being able to get half the bunks in the water.

I was thinking of going out this weekend but now I don’t know where I should launch from. Hastings might be my best option??

Hastings launch is free, but you don’t get a nice dock, have to put the boat on the beach, which isn’t a big deal.

Prescott you get nice docks to tie off to, but you do have to pay $ to play.

That non-res ramp sticker I bought for Prescott prior to fishing season has been one sweet deal!!
