What a great day to be out on the water Friday. After the 2nd dead starting battery in the past year, I have to kick myself for not carrying a spare. With no big motor, any trip out on the river would be limited to a short upstream upwind trip with the trolling motor. Live bait rigging with crawlers in 14-17′ dragging slowly upstream, almost hovering. Managed a limit of walleyes in 3 hours, quite a few smaller 13-14″ fish in the system right now. Sheaphead was on a tear as well. Caught 1 fat 15″ smallie mixed in the bunch. It wasn’t hard to go through 4 dozen crawlers, but the action was fun. As always, you had to be on the look-out for the tuna boats. I don’t know why they have to get so close. Dave
