I went out Saturday morning (6 to 11 a.m) to have another attempt to out fish my wife. It’s just not in the cards…I wonder if I spray my rap with her perfume?
Anyway, just north of the Prescott Bridge, the eye’s and saugers were really snapping! However most saugers were in the under 10 inch range and the eyes were in the 14 in range. She did manage to put two fish in the well for lunch.
We trolled through the Kinni channel on the way down and back. We both picked up two small eyes each way. The fisherman I talked with all said the same, many small ones before you find lunch.
The Afton area seemed slower than normal yesterday. The water is still high and lots of logs, barrels and foam floating.
By 1o a.m. the big boys were out in force. I’m betting the same today although it maybe a little lighter because of the forecasted storms this afternoon.
The tactic for this morning is ringworms in flooded wood with breaks close by….once I wake up the wife…
Good Luck…
