My daughter and I caught many short walleyes and a 15 1/2 on Tuesday a.m. Anchored just up from the Kinni. Some sheephead and catfish also. Night crawlers or minnows on lindys. Watch for logs in the water there are alot due to the high water. Caught sunfish and bass in the Washington County park cove with worms near the trees. It’s fun watching kids catching big fish on altrolight fishing gear. Loosen the drag and watch them smile! She caught a 36 inch
stergeon on her altorlight last week. She’s still telling that story. Have a great 4th.

And now for the evenings report….

Got a chance to get out on the river tonight with Mike Little. We didn’t have live bait or much of a game plan other than to do a little prospecting with jigs & plastics on the steep shorelines in and around the narrows area. Turned out to be a pretty brisk bite for a bit, mixed bag of short eyes (1 legal) and smallies, with a bonus 15lb flattie thrown in for fun. It was a nice break from the trolling or bait game, many of the fish came up on the rocks, really close to shore. I’m guessing the heavy boat traffic and wave action stacked bait on the rocks. 5″ grubs & ringies, various colors did the trick.

I have the trolling report from the Kinnie area. Trolled cranks for 3 hours thru the channel and north. Caught several shorts but not as many as usual. One legal barely over 15″. Couple bass. Limited on beer.
