well here is the question, I live not to far from the Hwy. 70 landing and I was just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share any decent spots to fish from shore?
I would prefer a place that is easy to get to and I don’t mind bottom fishing, waiting for something to bite. more so a place that is easy to get too being friends with kids would mostly be there with me. suckers, carp, cats anything would be nice, I have tried fishing from the rassberry landings a few times with limited (ok no) luck at all it would jsut be nice to find a place to take some frinds to relax and catch a few fish no matter what species
    thanks in advance, Mike

This may be a ways south of you but there is a good park on the river near Osceola. They have a fishing pier and plenty of other places to shore fish. I have caught lots of fish there. Just about everything that swims in the river. Plenty of room for the kids to play around.

Before I had a boat I would just get a good map and head out looking for roads that went near the river. Any bridge that went over the river was good to check out. State parks where good. Boat landings. Get road tripping and checking out what was ther was half the fun.

Here is one I just remembered. Its in gov. knowls forest in wis. Norway point if I remeber right. Head south on the trail from the parking lot. There was a good campsite there and during lower water a nice bar to fish off of.

Wild river state park has a huge sandbar to fish on.
There are a ton of places up there. I could keep going on forever.

You could try just south east of Rush City.
Follow Cty Rd 5 or Ferry Rd. east. It brings you to a little old landing called Ferry Landing. There are others about every 2 miles up and down the MN. side. As Mike had said road trip is the best way to find them. Good luck and happy fishing.

well at that rate whats a good tatic to use when checking new spots? I guess I was kinda looking for advice on what landing were better then others for structure/holes right out from the landing. I guess I was jsut trying to be lazy to find decent place to take a few friends for some relaxeing fishing once in a while. normally I jsut fish the snake river about a mile from my house, but that gets so low near me that the places you can get to normally only hold a few fish during the summer months, mayne I am wrong on this, but that seams to be all I can ever catch per outting, so I was more or less just looking for a little more action

Jigs or slip rigs with crawlers. Jigs are good for working areas over. There cheep and easy to re rig. Slip sinkers and hooks are good for casting out and letting sit. If nothing is happening just give them a few cranks and let them sit again.

Take your friends road tripping. If you dont find fish in one spot pack up and move. Lots of good times doing this.
