Big bass

Fishing was slow tonight for me but I did catch what should be my big bass for this year. A nice 20.75″ smallie made it to my net tonight. I am still skipping around a little over it. What a nice fish. Square belly, big mouth, and all. This is a good fish for the strech of river I fish.
Sorry about not haveing any photos of it. I have a bad habit of not taking the camera with. She was a buite.
To top it off I think this was my big smallie for last year also. Same fish if you would believe it. I caught it with in feet of where I caught last years fish and at about the same time. I am going to try to check my reports from last year because I am sure I reported about catching a nice bass about this time last year.
Catch and release, Got to love it.
Every thing else was slow tonight. One eye. A few rough fish. Not much else. The big one came in on a pitched ringworm that it just nailed.

Mike, get yourself one of those throw a way cameras. It’s great to leave them in the boat for fish (and otherthings) like the one you connected with.

What area were you fishing?

I went out for a couple hours in the morning in the Afton area. My neighbor was good enough to take me along. Not only did I get skunked, (I didn’t take any takle along and they weren’t biting on my “old faithful”)
my partner was pulling in eyes just as fast as he could get his 3-way down. On the way to the launch, he boated an eye just short of 23″.

I took my wife out just south of Afton on the WI side for a couple hours last night. The action wasn’t as fast as in the morning, but it was still good. The saugers were hitting faster. Two 15″ for breakfast this morning.

I was fishing north of Osceola.

nice bass Mike… I know how tough that size is to find up here…. maybe they are starting to show up?.. you said someone else nailed one last week…. that would be nice to get some really nice smallies up here….
