Call the babysiter and lock up your wife. Acutally your wife is more than welcome. It’s time for the 3rd annual pre-opener GTG!! April 26 about 6:00 pm at the Borderline in Lakeland. Right next to the famous and fabulous

    St. Croix River.

Just south of 94 on Minnesooota side.(think MN accent)

This event has been a great time. Local river rats drinking and eating and of course talking fish. This just happens to be 2 days before Croix opener so the excitement levels will be intense. Lets talk bait, lets talk boat, lets talk tackle, but you better be carefull when talking about SPOTS cause I got good hearing!!!!!! yeeeeee haaaaaaa

Seriously this is really a great time. The evening goes so fast you dont believe it. I plan to bring name tags this year to make it easier to identify each other and put a face with the name.

Hope to see you there. I’ll make sure this gets on the front page every week up to then.

ps.Briank cancelled an outing with Linder to make this event. That’s how cool it is!!!

    …and let’s talk CATS! All right…let’s not…

Al was a bit PO’ed but he’ll have to get over it!

I’ll have IDA decals and hat’s on hand as last year.

Did anyone notice that there are more lamas this year then in the past?

I dont think they have lamas anymore but there’s a certain waitress I will be requesting.
I wouldn’t recommed bring any children. Brian talks like a sailor after a couple O’duouls……

    Guys,

I’m fairly new to the site, but am going to try and make the get together. It would be fun to finally meet some of you and get more familiar with some IDA people. I’ve fished the St. Croix for the past 8 years, and it would be a great opportunity to talk fishing with some other St. Croix fishermen…

    See you there!

Glad to hear you guys are going to make it. Just 2 days before opener the excitement level for that alone will be enought to rock the place. Hell, I already have a DD just in case.

I’ll be there unless that is the day I pick up my new boat. It is supposed to be available the week of 23 April. If it is delivered that day and the weather is nice I will be on the river. Got to shake down the new rig before Saturday.

last minute kid-shuttling duties came up – probably won’t get there ’til around 7:30-8:00. Will the party still be rolling on by then?

The party will just be going then. We should be well oiled by that time.

Mike, I’m think you are oiled…most of the time.

The owners name is Rod…and he has never caught a catfish.

I think the IDA crew should give him some grief about this…sin.

The highlight of the evening was when that waitress came out of the employee only area, set a tube of lotion on our table and proceeded to lather up…..

    I’m not making this up…..

Yupppper… saw that too! I was too slow on the draw to ask her if she needed any help with that!

It was great to meet the rest of the guys there… talk about a Motley Crew! I’m surprised PETA doesn’t protest the use of the term “River Rat” as being too demeaning to those innocent creatures…

Hope to see many of you out on the river!

Good time last night! Good to meet some more IDA’ers. I convinced my neighbor and his buddy from KC to come with me and meet some guys I met online! I’m going to hear about that for awhile.

Once BK learned they did not have IDA handles, out came the business cards and the catfish schpeel . Good to meet the FW. Looking forward to our catfish trip in June.

Thanks to all for the tips, GPS coordinates( ), etc. Did anyone get King185’s secret spot??

Now that right there is funny!

“Secret Spot”!?!?!?!? Heck, I have no idea what I’m doing out there. First, I’d have to have a spot; Second, I’d assume that spot would have to hold fish and I’d be able to catch them; and Third, Nobody else would know about it! Hmmmm…. I don’t think any of these things apply, unless you’re talking about my “secret” sheephead spot – I’ll NEVER give that one out!

I just look for a place where nobody is fishing and cast a line…. I hate crowds!

WTF – What time was that at? My guess is it was 5 minutes after I left. And it was probably Amanda? I also enjoyed meeting everyone. I think my wife was also a little concerned about me wanting to go have a few beers with people I met online. Best of luck to everyone fishing this weekend.
