    Any one been out around Osceola yet? Would think the main river should be open up there. Back waters might still be frozen. This warm weather has me thinking about chasing white bass and crappies all ready.

    Mike – I was out yesterday. I launched out of the Boomsite Launch north of Stillwater and went up to the High Bridge to the north. The river was wide open all the way up and there was no ice in any of the backwaters. The islands are just under water and there was a good current flow.

    There was a lot of sticks and grass floating in the water. Water temp was about 39 degrees. I fished for channel cats with no luck. The floating grass fouled my line pretty quickly so you have to clean your line about every 5 – 10 minutes.
