How was this weekend for everyone? We fished near the Kinni Saturday and Sunday. Caught a lot of small walleyes and a lot of big silver bass. Toss in a couple of nice smallies and the usual sheepies and carp and we had lots of fun. The fish were showing lots of love for willow spoons.

Similar results…. fished between Stillwater and Hudson on Saturday. Caught several “short” walleyes on Shad Raps – both trolling and casting. Bass fishing was o.k., not spectacular. As usual, white bass were willing around the power plant (also thick in a few other spots). Overall, I did better last Thursday before the front came through… but it still was fun.

Headed out Sunday afternoon to see if I could still find some good fish for Tuesday, and we did. A buddy and I boated 12 legals from 11am to 5pm. These fish are real finiky. They’d grab the leech, and tear off line, then just drop it. So we had to set the hook right in the middle of them ripping it out of our hands, was the only way. No matter how much time you gave them. I’ll be out guiding on Tuesday and report back. Also the muskies are on a tear. We’ve boated 3 over 45″ and 7 under 45″ this year, just fishing in the evenings.
P.S. Stop at the bait store and grab some leeches.

Saturday I fished around Catfish Bar and the WI side to Black Bass Point. I didn’t see anything I could keep on the end of my rap…except a buffalo fish and some saugers.

Sunday morning I went down to Prescot. I was surprised by all the fisherman in the St Croix just north of the bridges. Went to the Miss and used the glasses to see what was going on at the wing damn south of Prescot and there were way too many boats fishing that spot. So I wanted to hit a wing damn close to Hastings.

I put my bow mount trolling motor down and tripped over a bumper I had laying on the for. This cause me to step on the motor control, which stuck in the left turn position. Unpluged the cord and (I thought) fixed the switch. Plugged it back in and the pedal control went up in smoke!

Went home and worked on the “honey dew list”.

Can anyone tell me how fishing was on Sunday?
