It turns out I had a chance to get out twice this weekend. I escaped from the little lady . The River has aprox 7″ of ice on the MN side in front of the Bayport Beach house. There were a lot of portables and a few perminent shacks out there. This week of cold weather will really help.
I fished a small lake near stillwater with Tom at the shop and we caught about 15 crappie 7-8″ range some sunnies and a couple pike. It was nice to be out.
I went out with my Brother on Big Carnellian from about 12:00-5:30 on sunday. When we got there a lot of the good spots were taken between the launch and the Island so we went off to the side and cought some perch and a few Pike. We did see a lot of flags and many decent pike being caught. One nice bass(4lb or so) was pulled out too. Be carfull on either side of the island for now. People were walking out past the break but I know it was open a week ago. This week should take care of that too. The Farley (cold weather) dance is finally working It was good to see the fishing and ice conditions have been improving. We are getting great reports at the shop about many area lakes too.
