I was only able to get out for a few hours Saturday afternoon but the St. Croix was again very generous yeilding 15 Walleyes with the biggest one just under 20 inches. Jig and minnow with a very gentle jigging motion seemed to be the ticket in 15-22 foot of water. But it was truly a spot on a spot day as if you missed the sweet spot on the drift you wouldn’t get any bites. I didn’t find any smallmouth still going but a boat south of me landed a couple.
I think I get out one more time this Saturday before (sniff..sniff…Sob) I’ll have to boat the boat into storage for the winter and start getting the ice fishing gear ready!
