Good St. Croix Walleye Action continues

I was only able to get out for a few hours Saturday afternoon but the St. Croix was again very generous yeilding 15 Walleyes with the biggest one just under 20 inches. Jig and minnow with a very gentle jigging motion seemed to be the ticket in 15-22 foot of water. But it was truly a spot on a spot day as if you missed the sweet spot on the drift you wouldn’t get any bites. I didn’t find any smallmouth still going but a boat south of me landed a couple.

I think I get out one more time this Saturday before (sniff..sniff…Sob) I’ll have to boat the boat into storage for the winter and start getting the ice fishing gear ready!

    I hear ya Gibbonski!

I went down to P4 and rented a boat at Everts. Not that I wanted to go fishing that bad…just figured it was my last free day for a while…so I’m going to do it.

Sometime a fella has to do things…just because!

Are you going to be on the ice this year??

    Stay warm!

Hey BK, so how late in the year does Everts rent out boats??? I’m trying to plan a winter openwater expedition on P4 this year and was wondering if I needed to keep my boat ready or if I could rent one there…

They are ready to go all year…as long as the ramps are ice free.

Dean has salt and sand handy to aid in keeping them clear.

Also, drain your trailers before heading up the ramp to keep the icing to a minimum.

By the way…tell Dean Briank sent you…he’ll charge you double…but it’s to a good cause!

    LOL…

Dean was definitely a very nice and cool guy… Last Saturday was the first time I met him and he definitely helped my brother and I out considering it was our first time on pool 4.
