On October 29th My fishing buddy Mark and I were fishing North of Stillwater. We had a great morning of fishing catching good numbers of Smallmoth and Walleye. We were taking a lunch break and relaxing in the warm October sun on this fine day. We heard some commotion in one of the boats fishing near us and talk of a massive walleye that was just caught. They were asking if we had a scale. They pulled to shore and Wow! The biggest Walleye I’d ever seen caught on the St. Croix. She went just under 11 lbs. Jig and a minnow was the ticket. What a beautiful fish! Released after a few snapshots for someone else to catch and enjoy. I’m enjoying some of the best fall fishing I’ve seen in some time on the St. Croix. I can’t wait to get back out there this weekend!
