Sturgeon season is over and now no chitter chatter on the croix forum. Are all of you done for the season? I miss coming on the site and seeing 10 new posts every time I check the site. (3 or 4 times a day)

If anyone wants to get out some eve or weekend let me know!

I hear you. I had a great season and learned a lot about a very unique species . This was my first season where I seriously pursued this critter. After going through a learning curve my best day was 31 sturgeon in the boat. My biggest was 51″. Why does it have to end now? They should make the sturgeon season longer even if it was catch and release for those critters which most everyone does anyway. I guess we’ll have to find some other thing catch now. As much as I love fishing, I have to live up to my handle and blast some pheasants out in N. Dakota next week. I would hate to see those birds get the bird flu and all so I will need to take some out. Hey I had a great time fishing with you outdoors4life. Let’s go fishing again when I get back.

Usually means the fishing is good.

yeah, the post-sturgeon chatter is definitely at a low level… as Suzuki points out, though, that this may be a very good indicator that the fall bite is running strong . I’m shooting to get out early tomorrow and be back at home by midday. I’ll be in a tan/brown ‘unmarked’ 18 foot deep-v. Give a shout if you see me!

I was also noticing how “quiet” it is in here…..I’m going to take that as a good thing. I’m planning on getting out in the morning (Monday) since it’s my day off and I need to satisfy the itch. I’m not ready to put the boat away just yet. I’ll be in a 16 ft Tracker Pro Guide with an IDA sticker on the tail. Please say hello if anyone else is out.

OK… I’ll bite… we fished for a few hours Saturday morning and put 5 nice saugs in the box, all jigging fatheads. As to location, we were south of the I-94 bridge and north of Catfish . (Really not that hard to figure out… it’s a pretty well known sauger spot…)
