Just wondering if there are any good spots to shore fish from around hudson. I have never fished it before any info would be nice. I have seen some people fishing out on the pier in hudson, Is there good fishing there or not?
Also i remember someone saying where the kinni goes in but is the park still open now?

Have not fished from shore, but while fishing tournaments I have seen alot of people fishing from the dikes. I have caught most of my fish on the south side of the dikes and out on the point. Hope that helps a little.

I usually fish from my boat but I too have seen people fishing off the point of the pier (south side). Also you might want to consider making the trek along the bike trail on the WI side of the bridge to get to the riprap under and south of the bridge – I often see people fishing from the rocks down there. Not sure what they’re catching though (we’ve caught only bass when pitching jigs towards the rocks).

Shoot me a PM if you’re interested in sharing a seat on my boat – I may head out this weekend and would be willing to share a ride if I have room. (Although I should warn you, this is only my second year on the river and there’s absolutely NO guarantee that we’ll catch any fish – other than sheepies or the occasional cat or sturgeon )

I know that they have been catching, depending on where you are from (white Bass, Sand Bass, or Silver Bass) along with the ones mentioned.

Look at the “Computer Guide to the St Croix River” that is pinned at the top of the St Croix Forum page and you will find a section on shorefishing spots. You can catch something at just about every spot – I would recommend trying one and moving around until you find one to your liking.

I have taken walleyes, sauger, silvers and crappies at times off the point of the Dike road. There is a 15’+ hole that will hold fish just off the SW corner of the point. Three other spots worth a try are below the dams where the Willow River dumps into the SCR and where the water below the dam emptying to the South enters into the Bay of Hudson, near the entrance road to the RR Bridge! Good Luck!
