Anyone have much luck today? Not us. The day almost ended as soon as it started when we ran into motor problems a few hundred yards from the launch. Phone diagnosis–>VRO pump is shot

So, we ended up fishing where we died. 31 feet of water, literally tons of shad on the the sonar…great! The wind made things interesting. 100 feet of anchor rope and we barely held. We ended up with 3 sturgeon and a channel cat, followed by a trolling motor propelled ride back to the landing around 8:00.

Did the front turn them off, or was it that we weren’t in our usual spot? From the depth and amount of baitfish, I thought we would have done better.

Guess I wasn’t were you were at…I would have towed you.

I was on the water at 5 and got into fish right away. Glad I had my hat as the gulls were nailing the frantic shad and dropping little gifts…at dusk it sounded like it was raining (shad!).

Left at 8 pm with 7 sturgeon. One shorty and the rest in the 40’s. The last bite was a 15 lbs channel. Left camera/tripod in the garage…and Suzuki didn’t make it..so I didn’t have anyone to take pics.

One 50+ inch sturgeon went airborn and cleared the water…from my point of view looked like it was trying to grab a seagull in the air.

Wish I would have had that on video!
