    Will be posted here soon…

Rumor has it that my 58 incher was…well dwarfed by a deserving person…and might be a surprise to many.

We’ll have to wait and see…1/2 hour left of the contest.

Congrates go to Fisher Dave and Bob Moore for orgainizing and making this contest a success!

I am not in control of the camera’s tonight… I think Aqua Joe got some digital photos, our photos are on film cameras.

As of 11 pm, Larry, DTRO, and Shamu were still on the water when I gave them the warning call of the weather coming in.

I’m waiting to see some pictures! It was really hard to keep grip of reality in my boat this evening!

I had the same problem at Evert’s last night. Marc, My body was watching the store for Dean…my mind was in Fisher Dave’s boat…right next to the lampreys.

    PICTURES…we want PICTURES!

    Hold the Phone Every One!!!

I apologize for the delay up to this point. I was unable to make it to the official weigh in, but do have the results.

Brandy and Shamu took 1st and 2nd place

Brandy with a 63inch long beast. Some one has to have a photo up here soon with that monster.

Shamu had a 44inch 15 girth for second place.

Here are some pics from our boat.
The Sturgeon contest was a blast. We had Dtro, Shamu and LFC in Shamu’s Boat. The wind was ripping and the bite was HOT!!!!
And it was Shamu who had the hot sticks! He was out fishing LFC and DTRO more than 3-1!!! Plus he was hitting the monsters right under the boat.

Thanks to Dtro who took a couple newbies and showed them the ropes. (First time ever catching sturgeon)

    Scott with another nice fish.

Darren explaining the finer points of Surgeon fishing.
    Way to go Coach.

    Larry with a little guy

    Scott with another big one

Larry and Darren with a nice double.

This was a nice break from Flathead fishing there were plenty of fish to be caught.

Congrats to the rest of you that participated.

Thanks to Bob Moore and Fisher Dave for hosting and sponsoring this contest. Once again you guys put on another great Gig.

Scott(Shamu).. thats a really nice sturgeon!

Is it true they pulled it off someone’s back after swiming in the river?

Well so much for the less wind the better the sturgeon fishing theory!

Way to go Whisker Hooked! Having a lady take away the bragging rights from these salty dogs…is…well, priceless!

But since we have to wait so long for he pic….We want to hear the whole story….from baiting the hook, to the bite…to the release…

    Let’s hear it young lady!

The wind made for an interesting variable in the equation for fishing. We were missing our share of bites due to not being able to see the first bump. Many of the fish were running with our lines and that was the only indication that we had a fish on.

Okay…I’m here!! So sorry to keep you guys in suspense for so long!! I didn’t have the internet over the weekend, but got a cd from Aqua Joe yesterday. I have some good ones on the film camera too. One of me trying to hold the beast myself!!

Okay, so BrianK wants it from the very beginning…well MrKeb actually put the shad on for me and insisted on casting, due to the wind! I was getting frustrated because it was hard to tell when you actually had a bite, since there were 3-4ft waves! But, I saw the small hit on my line and as I was on my way to set the hook, when I saw the tail of it splash up out of the water. I couldn’t really tell how big it was at that point. Than once I set the hook it splashed it’s head up and I said Holy ****!! I couldn’t believe it! I’ll never forget it! I wish we could have had someone video taping, so I could see all our faces! Right after that Dave said “okay Karl get all the rods out of the water, you’re in charge of the front anchor”! I’m standing there trying to reel this beast in, still in disbelief that this is actually happening!! So, I finally got it closer to the boat where it proceeded to take me on 5 trips around it!! So Karl would lift the anchor for me to go under and than I would try to keep it as far away from the motor as possible on the other end! I think Karl might have been as tired as I was after lifting that anchor so many times!! Dave was walking around with me, making sure this thing didn’t pull me in the river and saying, “just pull up slow”, I’m thinking, yeah sure, cause that’s easy! It was fighting like crazy! I was worried it wasn’t going to get tired! At one point I did lose balance, and stepped on a few rods, because the wind of course had to pick up again!! No damage done though! Karl and I almost both fell in the at one point! So, this all lasted for at least 20 minutes!! Felt like forever!! At one point towards the end, as the tip of the rod was in the water, I said “Dave..Dave, I don’t think I can hold it anymore!” Well,I managed to hold on to it and eventually brought it up out of the water!! Dave and Karl struggled to get into the net, but they did and it just barely fit!! The poor thing had about 5 lampreys on it!So, than Dave called AquaJoe and told him, we needed them to come over to take pictures, which he did in record speed! My arm was just shaking when I was done! It pretty much felt like it was asleep for the rest of the night!! It’s sore and I have a few bruises on my stomach but that’s fine with me!! I could barely fall asleep that night, woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it, dreamt about it and than thought about it again and haven’t really stopped yet! Needless to say,it has to be the coolest thing that I have ever done!! It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience!! I’m still a little in shock! I never could have done it without Dave and Karl and Karl and I both say, if Dave wouldn’t have been there, we for sure couldn’t have got it in! Dave you were great and did a very good job at keeping me calm!! So, thank you to both of you!! Thanks to Aqua Joe, Bob, and Audemp for coming over to take the pictures for us!! Gosh I sound like I’m accepting a Grammy or something!! Anyway, I’m sure I’m leaving out some details, so Dave or whoever feel free to add in!

Sorry everyone!! I didn’t include the pictures! They’re too big and the stupid work computer doesn’t have a program on it to fix that! So I emailed them to BrianK, so hopefully he can get them on. AquaJoe, if you go on and have time, feel free to put them on!
