Too bad the fishing wasn’t! We picked up 2 saugies, half a dozen sheepskins jigging 20′ with crawlers, and half a dozen or so little smallies 6″ to 15″ on topwater. They really seemed to fire up about 8:30 pm or so.

We went out of the bluffs. I like the way my trailer scrapes the cement down there! Too bad the launch drops off so fast on the second piece of concrete. At least my scraping was bolts, I felt sorry for the Ranger guy who actually scraped the bottom of his trailer.

My trailer has been scraping very badly at the bluffs, too. I’ve adjusted by not backing down as far. I suppose it helps that my trailer for my 18′ Lund has rollers. Also, from what I see, the far right portion of the launch (when standing up hill from the launch) does not slant as steeply as the left side. So I’ve been launching and reloading (or is it called un-launching??;)) on that side mostly.

I was out Wednesday night too and got the big skunkeroo. I fished upstream from Stillwater chasing cats. I worked 5 different spots from 0800pm to 0100am and never even had a nibble. Fished cut bait for channels and bullheads for flatheads. Lots of bait on the surface and surface action chasing the bait – probably white bass and smallies. Sure was a picture perfect, warm, calm night. I still had a great time.
