I was fishing today and say a sunk boat half way between St Croix Bluffs and Prescott on the MN Side. It is a 23-24′ boat next to what I believe is the owners dock. It has some chains on it, like they tried to winch it out. Anybody know what happened to it???

Nope. no camera along. I feel bad for the owner. I wonder how it happened.

Hmm, Is this boat by a row of cabins with a sandy beach? If it is, I proably know the boat owner, I’ll check it out today to get the skinny on it.

I just hate it when a St. Croix beachfront property owner’s yacht sinks next to his jet ski’s, fishing boat and BMW. I hope they don’t spend too much time staying inside their
    $3 million home being depressed.

Maybe they’re just trying to establish a new crib in the area near their dock to improve the fishing??? I wonder if you’d get a tax write-off for a ‘conservation project’?

We boated by it tuesday evening and the Sheriff boat was there making phone calls and tagging the boat. I wonder how long the Sheriff will let it sit until they issue a fine?? I’m sure it will be fun getting that one out.

I looked for the boat on Thursday, was it gone by then. Or am I just blind?

They probably put a temporary patch on and put a high capacity pump in there to get the water out and keep it floatable until they could pull it. That is how I would have attacked that problem. You can rent a good pump fairly reasonably.

I’m pretty sure I know which boat it was. There is one missing on the Mn side that was tied up to a small grey floating dock. If it is this particular boat, they had troubles a couple of years ago also. The boat/dock came loose and the boat rubbed on the rocks on shore.

Hopefully for them it is an easy fix. I know I would be in dire straights if I looked out and saw my boat on the bottom of the river.
