I hit the water bright and early today. It was a beautiful and the fish were biting. They were much more aggressive than last week. I caught walleyes on minnows, leeches and crawlers. I also pulled in a good number of white bass, sauger and sheephead. Fish were biting in 13-24 feet of water with the nicer fish being toward the shallow end. The nice weather really brought out a lot of people this morning. I caught 5 legals by 10 am and then went searching for other productive areas. This was a mistake as the size of fish caught after that was not so good. Fishing also seemed to slow after the clouds rolled in and the wind started to change.

Brain, south of the Kinni. Apparently not far enough south. It appears I need to fish further south in pool 3 to get the big ones.

Brian, I am liking you more and more. I know we share a disgust for bass, but this love of walleyes is really getting me excited….

Thats funny you mentioned the bite slowing when the clouds moved in, I had the same thing happen on pool 2 on saturday. I hit the St.Croix sunday, caught 6 walleyes but only one legal.
