Anyone make it out Wednesday? I had to take a 1/2 day vacation to find out what it is like to fish the Croix when it’s not raining. The sun felt great, but the South wind made boat control difficult. There were only a few fishing around the Kinni narrows, very quiet considering the weather. I heard Prescott was packed with fishing boats around 7:00 pm. I managed to put two nice Walleyes in the boat, a 19″ and 17″. Caught 4 short Walleye, 1 big silver, one sheepie, and missed around ten good bites.

You must have the truck fixed already? How’s the water looking down there? Good to hear they are still biting. Saturday is looking like the weather is going to cooperate nicely for those fishing the river, unfortunately I’m heading south. Good luck to all this weekend!

FTA – Yup, got the truck back Tuesday. The emegency brake assembly blew apart, I thought the rear end was cooked. The Croix had a fair amount of debris, nothing real huge, but be careful when motoring. 66 and sunny on Saturday sounds great to me. It will be interesting to see if the crowds are lighter with the Sconi inland waters opening for Walleye.

Sandbar, there were very few boats around Prescott yesterday afternoon.

Now Tuesday evening was another story!

A guy I work with has a cruiser at Kings Cove. He left the Kinni beach around 7:00 pm and arrived in Prescott by 7:30. He said the boats were packed around the train bridge area.

You got a tee time for this weekend?

    Tee time…right here…

I guess I didn’t look up the Croix at that time…

Two trailers in the Prescot parking lot when I arrived. One was mine…same when I left.
