I am taking a group of middle school students on a day trip to Mille Lacs. I am looking for donations to bring the cost down for our students. If anyone has any ideas, contacts, or can help in any way let me know as soon as you can. The trip is not until June 6th but I need to get information to the kids as soon as possible. My students and I would greatly appreciate any help we can get.
    Thanks, BurBob

Just to narrow down some possible options….how old are the kids, how many are u planning on bringing up, and where are u coming from?

I agree w/ Derek, get some parents involved. What we always did for fundraisers were bake sales, group garage sale( with all proceeds going to the trip), misc. jobs done by the students(in football when we needed new jerseys, we raked and mowed lawns, help people move furniture etc.) & of course, talk to the school board, getting some $ from the school.

I’m sure there will be some people on this site that may offer some assistance also. Sounds like a good thing u are trying to do, getting these kids exposed to the outdoors.

Hope it all works out great and good luck,
    Charlie

Max # will be 40, 6th – 8th grade students. With transportation included the price would be about $40.00 per student. This is a little steep for a reward/activity day. I am not looking to get the price to 0, I am trying to get down to about $20 per student (similar in price to other activities offered). Thank you for your help.

Bobby, how about you win the Weiss action this weekend and donate that to your cause?? Just don’t fish with your brother. “The other Putz” is looking for a partner, I’ll be out of town.

    Thanks Jami

Fishing with that crew would be a lot like receiving a donation.

The “Other Putz” will be to busy falling in the water to fish.
