I convinced Suzuki to go out for another rainy outing on the Croix. We started fishing around 4:30 pm and finished about 8:00 pm. 2 minutes into our first drift, Suzuki pulled in a nice 15+ incher. The second drift he produced another nice eater. Things slowed a little, but I ended up boating a nice 20 and 18 incher. Suzuki finished the evening with another about 16 inches.

I am not sure what this Walleye is trying to tell Mike, but I think the fillet knifes might have had something to do with it.

Did that fish tail-slap Mike just as you took the pic?

You shorted me a fish. I got 2 longs the first pass!
I’m just glad my eyes are closed in the picture. For some reason I look “different” in the pics with them open.

James-yes. the moment before he hit the button that fished flopped all the way across table and landed on my nose. I never flinched.

Hey Suzuki, nice fish… also like the ‘old school’ filet knives. A buddy of mine is trying to talk me into getting an electric but it just doesn’t seem right. I’m sitting here at my computer paying bill and looking out at the sunshine… should be on the water!

    Any tips today?

Didn’t mean to short ya there Mike. You were pulling them in so fast, I couldn’t keep track.

Here’s the other pic, minus the tail-slap.

Nice picture and fish guys. Mike, you have to talk nice to the little ladies or they will show who’s boss like that.

Nice meeting you guys at the launch, we ended up only catching 6 saugers, only three were decent enough to keep.

    Nice fish guys!

Were you working the sand traps or the greens?

Nice meeting you both, Bob and Nick. I knew it was going to be a late night of cleaning fish when we were the last to leave the ramp. The best weather of the night was when we were trading fish stories in the parking lot.

Bob, did you get out on Tuesday in the sunshine?

Brian – They were all caught in the “rough”. You get your clubs ready yet?
