Has anyone been to the boat launch lately? Last I heard the water was close to the biffys. Is it even usable? (The ramp, not the biffys).

Also, how is the river in general…Lots of junk still floating down?

    Thanks.

Haven’t been to Stillwater but the river is still surprisingly high. Lakefront launch in Hudson is still closed and Beanie’s doesn’t have docks in yet. Tough to get on the river right now. I haven’t noticed heavy debris but am sure there is some out there.

I launched out of the DNR Boomsite launch on Friday evening and had no problem. Water is high and I would recommend bringing a pair of knee high rubber boots to help stay dry during launch and takeout. On Friday there were about 10 trucks with boat trailers in the parking lot.

One other thing – on Friday the river elevation was still 683.2′ and in a No-Wake Restriction. There is a big No-Wake sign posted on the bulletin board next to the launch. I only saw 2 other boats obeying the No-Wake restrictions – everybody else is flying. I’ve been told there is a pretty hefty fine if caught but that didn’t seem to stop most boaters. I stayed nice and slow and enjoyed the evening.

Thanks for the info. I’m going to try to get out this week.

Boots…good idea. The water is a bit cold in bare feet!
