Yep! Saw them crazies out by the open current by Beanies again today! You know, it’s one thing to walk out there but this morning………..oh yeah! They got a 4 wheeler with them this time.

So, let’s think about this. If the ice starts getting weak for a person, which it WILL TODAY, how are you going to get 3 guys on an ATV and motor out of there?

Mike T, you’re right, I might know them if I were told who they were, I’ve lived in Hudson for over 30 years. But I’m guessing you know them better so, maybe you could ask them how far that luck needs to be pushed before one of them becomes a “nature snack?” Doesn’t mean they’ll pay anyone any mind, but maybe they need to know somebody cares.

them boys are ether on to some thing or thay are on some thing.

The four wheeler has been there for two days now and thay are right on the edge of old to new ice (SKIM ICE)

I Hear thay are on about 8 inches and the fishing been good to poor. I think these boys are doing it for the thrill of pushing it to the edge. Should be a fear factor event.

The jombo perch are biting on milacs been two weekends in a row with good bucketfull between a few guys. a few eyes also but be prepared to go find them out in the middle of the flats. very good ice with little snow makes it easy to drive the ice to the middle of the lake. may need to extend the auger a bit. any other reports from around the area

Did one of them happen to graduate in ’85? If so, I DEFINITELY know who we’re talking about! Ever been in a “Hale-storm?” Good memories.

I’m generally an open minded kinda guy, but it’s hard for me to believe that anyone fishing that close to the edge in an area that has moving open water could have actually graduated. I love fishing, but I want to fish again!

Okay, so I cruise by around 12:30 this afternoon and it looked like a whole family gathering! Two portables far from the danger point but there looked to be quite a crew out there today. I can’t remember if I saw the ATV or not but when I see gear near the edge and the fisherman standing a few feet away, doesn’t that indicate pushing the envelope a bit?

We all have the right to do as we see fit within the provisions of the law but what I saw today looks like encouragement for others to try it. The youth are always the most impressionable and often the least prepared. I suspect in the near future, if this begins to look “okay”, someone’s going to die. You can’t have a dozen people out there and have a few go at the same time! I’ve seen a thing or two in my years around here and I’m sorry but I think they should declare it a “no access” area. I’ve seen the rescue workers pulling someone back out of the broken ice. I’ve seen the entire shelf seperate from the shore ice and leave anglers stranded out there. More tax dollars put to good use!

There was a boat out by them today………..maybe that’s a good thing. Question now is, was anyone chasing walleye or sauger?
