12/27/02 St. Croix River walleye have been active so far this season, the trick is they are hitting during low and no light. Depths from 19-23 feet off of points are holding fish. Crappies have been fairly active but a strong bite really hasn’t started. Walleyes are hitting jigging spoons with whole fatheads, crappies minnows, or minnow heads. Sturgeon have been active as well and hitting fatheads on bobbers, these fish are out of season and must be returned. Crappies are best targeted between 36 and 40 feet use bobbers and minnows.

    Keep catchin’
