The SCR is just getting better and better. Water temps have varied from 45-49 F over the last 3 days and the bite is smokin’. I ventured into some different locations today and found the ‘eyes, sauger and silvers ready, willing and able! Slowing down the trolling speed some with the colder water was productive. I am still finding them primarily on the 20′-23’ breaks where it drops into the depths. Hope to get back again tomorrow for more of that SCR bounty!

Gotta love the gold treasure of the croix. The bronze and silver aren’t worth is as much, but are fun to catch. Keep the reports coming Eyejacker. They give us weekend warriors something to look forward to!

FTA, I also caught a couple of smallies, which I will admit to you, only if you promise not to tell! I don’t think I could handle the public humiliation, if it got out.

Since I have the day off tomorrow I think I will be in the Prescott area so if anyone is out and about stop by and say “Hi”. The boy has some new colors of hair jigs that I’m going to test for him. Pool 3 tomorrow and Pool 4 Saturday—-life is good.

I did manage to get out on the SCR again today and fished the same locations I did yesterday. I can’t begin to find the words to describe just how good the fishing was, so I am not even going to try! Suffice it to say, I did make a note on my fish log to commemorate this day!

I was able to get out again today (11/7) and what a striking day it was! Although the bite was not as voracious as it was last Friday, I still boated good numbers of sauger, silver bass and, yes, a few smallies. Not sure what the smallies were doing in these waters unless they were reverently washing the fins of the ‘eyes and sauger!

The SCR was generous again yesterday(11/8),however, the bite over my last 3 outings seems to be tailing off somewhat. A dozen walleyes and sauger did come over the side of the boat and all but 3 eaters were returned to the river. Also hooked a couple of silver bass to round the day out. Crank baits trolled around the deep breaks are still producing although more and more fisherman are jigging. All in all, it was another great day to be on the river. I hope this weather holds a little longer, say to January 15 or so!
