With the number of post up, I thought it would be a good reminder.

Thanks MR. Sturgeon, for a great time!

Thanks, Brian. The fall sturgeon season is pretty short but it sure is fun. I was out for a few hours this afternoon with my sons but all we got was one small fish. The St Croix cruiser and big boat traffic was just brutal – it made fishing almost impossible. Kind of a crappy way to close out the season.

You can plan on another trip next fall. I’ll put you on a 50″+ fish next year.

Sturgeon season was fun.. sure made the most of the 2 days I had the opportunity to fish it. We did hit a few nice channels when fishing for them. I might have to sneak out there one of these days and fish a bit shallower and see if there are a few that want to chew.

This is not a statement saying I am going to target sturgeon out of season.. I am in fact very curious about the cat population with the abundence of bait.. It wouldnt surprise me to see a flathead either.

I have not been on the board here for a while and have a new name I like to keep my rookie satatus. After a great report for you guys I skipped my date in a tree and made it down to the river saturday with a couple buddies that have never seen a sturgeon We ended up with a 53″ and a 54″. What a blast…. I will get some pictures up by tomorrow if I can. Olny wish I would have made it out earlier.

Here’s a pic of ol’ Fish Head watching his catch go airborne. If you look closely…you can see him saying…SON!!

Hey! Who are those guys? The 3 stooges??

You’d think the state record bass just leapt out of the water with the jaw-dropping stares on those fine anglers faces!!

Thank god the livewell wasn’t big enough to keep it alive for awhile or we’d have been the talk of the forums for quite some time!

Like I said…I REALLY want a River Pro…but sometime a person just has to settle for second best….

I also heard a rumour that sooner or later…you end up as a bassfisherman..you get blonde hair and whiskers… Can’t have that!

That is an awsome picture with the fish jumping out of the water.. I am surprised you got it.. its not like there were many opportunities(I think it only jumped once?)

    Good Job Brian!

    Thanks Brian,
That is a great picture of the sturgeon busting the surface.
I was lucky enough to get a couple buddies who have never seen a sturgeon actually catch one. I caught the 1st fish and it made a good jump off the first run. Now you have to remeber these guys thought I was full of it when I told them we were going to catch a sturgeon. It was just as entertaining seeing there reaction as catching the fish. Lucky enough we got another one for them to pull in. Both fish were about the same size but the 2nd one had a head the size of watermelon. It looked older but not as healthy!
Cant wait till next year!!!! It would be fun to get out there with you guys sometime Ill keep in touch. Otherwise its back to them wallys this weekend

I saw a signature file somewhere that went like this:

A true fisherman teaches others how to fish…

There isn’t anything that makes my day as when I see someone hooking into a fish like these or a flathead for the first time. Gives me goosepimples!

    Thanks for sharing RatherBfishn!

I don’t know if that is the exact word I used.

I asked Brian if he wanted to buy my River Pro…

He must be waiting till I get a few more dents in it.
