Spent some time on the Croix yesterday and WHOOOOOOO-EEEEE! Was it ever windy! In the morning, things were a bit calmer and I was able to have some fun with the white bass along the WI shoreline of the “lake” area. But once those winds kicked up, I headed for calmer water because I was really starting to feel the wear and tear of those waves! The “hot” technique was trolling Mann’s, Baby Minus 1’s about 125′ behind the boat. The whitey’s would come up and hammer ’em!

I’m not absolutely positive but I think I had a Turk sighting in the Hudson channel, just north of the interstate bridge. Was that you buddy? If so, I was the guy in the white Alumacraft that gave you a wave. If not, I think someone’s using your boat!

Once the wind got fairly nasty, the bite I was on disappeared and I never recouperated with any success from then on…… with anything. Anyway, having a free day during the week now, I’ll be studying up on the river a lot more. If ya see me, and know it’s me……… don’t swamp me okay??? lol! See ya out there!

    Ken,

I didn’t see you! I did fish by the Swing Bridge just to mix it up on Friday though, was that the day.

That’s a cool presentation trolling the Minus 1s do they track well? I have two of those big suckers both shad white in color. I can see how they can trigger the surface riding fish!!!
