I was fishing in my spot for muskies with huge MG spinner bait in about 3-4 feet of water over a little riffle when I thought I hooked into a decent muskie. As I brought her to the surface, I was absolutely shocked to see this monster walleye on the end of my muskie stick. I have never had anything like this happen to me before nor have I heard of it. Check out the pics.

I saw a 28 inch Walleye hit a Reef Hawg once. It was on a lake in western Wisconsin, late August, on an inside weedline. All of 2 or 3 feet of water! You never know.

    Cool Fish!!!

I would bet that a 30 inch eye in shallow water would be like trying to stop a torpedo from heading out to deep water.

    Great Pics too!!

SWEET FISH. I have had a few eyes hit jerkbaits, it is always nice to pick up a bonus fish when out throwing baits. You seem to have a horseshoe stuck somewhere this year , every where you fish you seem to be butting heads with quality fish, keep it up

Nice fish. I didnt think there where any 30″ in the croix. Largest I have stumbled into was a 28″ while cat fishing around osceola. Had alot of people stunned with that one.

I got a 29 in the Cannon once. (and a 26 the same year)

Had a deformed head like it had been leaning against a bridge piling all its life. I’m embarrased to list my biggest in the Croix. Let’s just say it was nowhere near 30. Nice fish.

if anyone wants to take me out i’ll be sure to bring my horseshoe along with me and maybe it will spread to watercrafts and not just my rods.

Will let you know when I start getting back up that way. Might even be next week. Most of my time is spent between taylors and osceola fishing for walleyes. There are a few muskies down that way also.

Make sure that you have that good luck charm with you when we hit Plantan in October I can’t wait to get up there.

When it comes to the Croix, I haven’t figured out any consistant spots for the big ones…… they just seem to show up unannounced and unexpected. However, spinner baits over the weed beds has been an increasingly common encounter with me and the shortest one I’ve pulled out the weeds was 20″ long. It seems to happen if I have a big grub or something of a teaser trailing off that big hook.

Nice fish and glad to see one that tops the 30 mark!

Just for giggles, I pulled a 8.2 lb. sheepie out of some weeds on a spinnerbait yesterday morning before the wind got nasty!
