It’s been a while since I’ve checked the IDA posts & I found this to be a most interesting one. I say kudos’ to Mwitham!

Every once in a while, Nature is extra nice to me. This last week was one of those times, when I caught a 37″ muskie. Only the third muskie I’ve caught in my lifetime, but each one gets a little bigger and better than the last. After the photo, this one was promptly released back into the Croix. Not sure if it might be a tiger muskie? Gotta look at my ID charts. I don’t think the photo gives to much background detail away I got it on an artificial lure and that’s about all I’m sayin, except, boy, isn’t the Croix great!!

    Alright eleclady!!

From your lack of posts lately, I thought you gave up fishing!

Glad to see you’re getting out and enjoying the summer of ’05 on the Croix!

    PS Thanks for the release!

Don’t confuse posting with fishing, I always be a fisherman

I read the posts & really enjoy the forum , If it weren’t for the forum I would not of known I could fish the St. Croix on the same day it opened for Minnesotan’s and I would of lost some river time. There is lots of valuable information here. Guess I’m just more or a lurker than a poster, unless I have something to contribute or a fish photo to share. I often wonder when I’m out there fishing, which other fisherman are fellow IDA’ers. I’m sure I’ve seen some of you out there.

Maybe, I’ll work up the courage to enter Beanies contest sometime & meet some of you.

In the meantime, thanks for the comments on my muskie.

You don’t have to enter Beanies contest to meet IDA folks…actually very few IDAers fish Beanies.

An IDA hat helps…or just come to one of the get togethers!

    Either way…nice fish!

I do wear my IDA hat and I’ll keep a watch out for the get together’s. I guess I didn’t realize there were get together’s other than the Beanies contest and an occasional invite here & there for a fishing partner. Is that posted on a different forum or am I just not checking in often enough? I’m sure I could learn a few tips on the walleye fishing on the Croix from some of the folk here. From what I read, it seems like everyone is catching more walleyes than me

But what I really enjoy is being out there on the river…….so that’s where I will be as much as I can. Back now to lurking mode.

Watch the calendar on the left of your screen. Check out the red colored days (none right now). Normally they are posted in the General Forum.

Ps Andersons bay has a great white bass bite going on right now in the evening….if you can keep the ducks out off your boat!

(hope that’s not too close to anyone walleye hot spot!
