Hadn’t gotten the chance to post this pic yet, but these two were caught earlier in the season, 3 casts apart on a Dancin Raider. One of the best days of the year so far.

WTG. That is one fat musky and the second one has some bueatiful marking. I have had hit on my dancin raider in the past but am yet to hook up on it yet. Seems to be a good lure.

thanks guys, that was a fun day. I made 5 casts, and my best guess is, the smaller fish (caught second) hit my raider twice and missed, cast 3 was the big fat mama, nothing on cast 4, and then the smaller one finally connected. I know i’m lucky to have that happen all in one day let alone in 5 casts. I didn’t get a girth on the first one (a bit excited to get the first ski of the year, i just wanted to get her back in the water.) But my brother and I figure it had to go at least 20 probably more. Good times!

AlvinMack – you are very close…except that you couldn’t get a boat into this section of river unless you helicoptered it in (any clues now.) I would tell you but this is a spot my brothers and I found about 5 years ago and each year the fishing gets worse and we see more people. When we first went there, I kid you not, you could catch 100 smallmouth in a day, by yourself. There were some huge fish in there, and they would hit anything you threw at them. Now, it seems like the smallmouth have been harvested a lot, but the muskies are still in there! I’ve heard there are 50+ inch fish in there and I believe it! It is a serious rush to have a 45 incher charging at your lure when your knee deep in the same water they are!

It’s sad but true it’s very hard to keep a good spot a secret. Make sure to be a leader and inform other anglers in the area how important it is to release those muskies. The water where I caught my 1st and many more muskies was fished out in a matter of 5 years when word started to spread. In a place where a guy/girl could catch 2 or 3 muskies on a good day u would be lucky to catch one a week now. It’s an absolute shame. Nice fish man! thanks for sharing
