5/28 I hit the St. Croix with two friends in search of some smallmouths. We fished south of Afton as I had run into some fish while trolling cranks the weekend before. First cast into this spot produced a fish. We were all using rattling tube jigs, hot color was white. In three hours this 100 yard stretch of shoreline produced 17 fish. No monsters just good solid fish. I kept the boat in 6-7 fow and made casts all the way to the bank. I was very surprised that no one was fishing this spot or moved over near us. We had the spot to ourselves the entire time.
