Mike, Boone was down on 3 yesterday and reported he caught a couple males. I was thing if I don’t go piggie hunting at Redwing tomorrow I might hit 3 sometime during the week one evening.

    Suzuki,

I fished the Prescott community spots for a couple of hours Sunday morning and caught three walleyes (14, 17, 20″). I also spent a couple of hours downstream fishing some current breaks or real tight to shore but didn’t catch anything doing that. I’d guess there were about a dozen boats fishing the around Prescott. I saw one boat hand-lining and a couple of others ripping Sonars but I don’t know how they did.

The Prescott police were checking rigs in the lot so make sure you pay your launch fee. Good to see them out there. I understand some ramps have vandalism problems but I’ve never heard of any problems at Prescott.

    Good Luck,

    Boone

$35 non-res. Best deal on the river.

How long of a boat ride is it from Prescott to the RW dam. If a guy was fishing there and nothing was going, is it feasible to “run” to Red Wing??

It’s close enough but lock passage availability both directions is always an unknow factor and could take hours.

It there a place a guy can go in Prescott to pick up a non-res annual sticker for the landing or do you have to mail a check in?
    Thanks

    John,

It’s really not very far… maybe 12 miles or so but like Suzuki states, locking through the dam could be a problem. You’d probably be better to put the boat back on the trailer and drive down to Everts. Just head down Highway 35 until you get to County road K and then take a right. It’s only about 20 minutes down the highway from Prescott to Everts.

You could also phone Dam #3 and see when they’ll be locking pleasure craft.
