I predict that some April showers will keep the river fairly high for the opener. Which should mean good fishing. I think the walldads are spawning now or very soon.
It’ll be nice to get back on ther St. Croix.

High water = a fun opener. What’s the word on us WI people? I’ve heard both ways. “Yes” we can fish and “No” we can’t. Can we target walleye or not?

I cannot wait either and had just about enought of fishing the muddy. I hope your right Turk! Got to love this hight water.
What water temps do the eyes usually spawn??? I know 2 weekends ago the water was about 38 degrees in prescott under the bridge. I spent this last weekend back in the slews off P3 and water was 51-54 degrees and on the way down. Come on rain!!
We didnt have much luck with eyes but pounded them white bass. I had the girlfriend with and she had a blast.

Highwater sounds good to me, should be a good opener

SteveO MN and WI anglers can start targeting walleye beginning April 30th. If you have any questions about this contact [email protected].

BUSCHMAN walleye typically spawn in water temps ranging from 45-50 degrees.
