Suzuki, Nice Fish! I notice the picture is from the daytime. They biting better in the low light times of morning and evening? Or can you find them during the day too? Thanks.

Mid to late morning. Gotta love that deep stained water.

Out yesterday around N Hudson. Ice is still great. Found fish and could raise them all afternoon but they wouldn’t take. Buddy caught a small sturgeon. I got one keeper and a mooneye.

I hit the River on 3/17 from 2 pm to about 6. Fished the Wisconsin side across from Bayport Beach and then right in front of the beach. both about 32-33 FOW. Both spots had a lot of activity on the graph at both 20 feet down occasionally and consistently from bottom to 5 feet off. I tried minnow and plain hook, teardrops, angel eyes and other stuff but had a tough time. Wisconsin side produced one 10″ crappie on a tiny pink/white glow teardrop and waxie. The minnesota side showed tons of fish from bottom to 7 feet off right after drilling holes. I had four hits right away on a glow hook/minnow combo, but lost each after one turn of the reel. I think they’re down there, just didn’t seem too eager to bite. Ice is in great shape, 2 feet plus.

I’m heading out Sat and/or Sun morning. I should have GPS’d my spots. This new snow will probably make it difficult to pinpoint.

Its a good thing I followed your tracks to GPS it myself eh!
j/k I will be out there this weekend also and will let you know how it goes. Say hi if you see me I drive a black Dodge dakota and fish out of a fish trap with gander on the side.

I’ll be in a white Tahoe if I go. Looks like Sun is my only shot. With this kind of snow I’m probably running my sleds Sat plus it’s going to be awafully windy that day anyway and by the looks of things still snowy. If Sun morn is relatively calm I will be out there.
