Heading out again tonight in the Osceola area. Were going to try chasing some catfish around late tonight. Anyone have any good advice on where to find them up here. Its been alot of years since i fished for them and i didnt have much luck back then.
We are going to start with fishing some of the sunken log jams with crawlers and cut bait. Thats about the only places i know to try.
Does anyone know if they are spawning right know. It sound like they dont bite much then.
Any advice would be a great help.
Anyways the fishing report from the Oscoela area is they are still bitting. Walleyes on crawlers and crankbaits. The smallies are schooling up in the mornings and chasing minnows. I sat in one spot Thursday morning and caught 1 eighteen inch eye and seven smallies in about a hour. I havent found any big smallies yet. about 2 pounds is the biggest.
One nice thing about this part of the river is the lack of insane boaters. There are plenty of canoes in the afternoon but i dont worry much about one of them running me down.
Good luck fishing.
