Anyone know if you can launch a boat at Prescott yet?

Checked it last night and a boat could be launched if somebody would plow out launch all the way down to water. Same with hastings ramp. Was a boat track at hastings into water but 4×4 and small boat is a must until it is cleared.

    Crossin Eyes,

I stopped by the Prescott ramp on my way home form Everts this afternoon (Friday). The ramp is in good shape… no ice lip or snow on the ramp. Even big Rangers could be launched without a problem. In fact, it looked like some guy was putting on a wet suit to go water skiing. There was a ton of ice chunks floating down the Mississippi above the confluence.

I might get out there tomorrow (Saturday) about mid day for a couple of hours. I struck out big time at Red Wing today.

    Good Luck,

    Boone

Anyone been over the Prescott bridge lately? With the warm temps, I was wondering if those fools in the permanent shacks got them off?? They were real close to open water two weeks ago.

Went by Saturday afternoon around 2:30. The white shack that was closest to the open water was still there. They also had a truck parked next to the shack. I couldn’t tell the distance to the open water, but it looked way too risky for me. Those guys have a pretty big set of kahunas!

It’s probably not as close as it seems, but it’s still not smart just because it’s a river. I wonder how thick the ice is out there?? Would you drive out and check??
