    My Dad caught this fish a few years ago on the St. Croix while Walleye fishing in the spring. Ugliest thing I have ever seen. Took him 60 minutes to land and he caught it on 8# test.

    WOW! I’ve never seen a fish holding a man before! That sturgeon must be 100lbs!

    WOW is right. That fish is as tall as the person is. Lots of fun bring that one in. Thanks for sharing.

    A buddy and I were out that day and saw most of the fight from about a hundred yards away. They started at the top of Andersen Bay and ended down at the point. Took a long time chasing it around with the troller. Well fought. It was about as long as the boat is wide. Very impressive.

    I remember you guys! Thanks for getting my net. I dropped it when I knew it would serve no function.

    I grabbed the tail to land it. When I had the fish in my hand my dad sat back, exhausted, and pulled out his camera. He then exclaimed “pull it in” to which I replied, laughing, “I can’t!”. We both had to drag that thing on board.

    Quite an experience.

    Sweetness!!!! That is truly one of the biggest sturgeon I’ve seen pictured! What a great fish!!!

    It was not in season but I think it was larger than the state record.
