Haven’t been to the croix since spring. Any suggestions where to find a few walleye? Is fall a good time to drag a crawler? Plain hook or spinner? Will I find the fish in shallow or deep. Don’t get to go too often any help would be great.

I have had luck with a jig and minnow or a plain hook with a minnow. You catch a variety of fish from catfish, crappie, walleye, sauger, sheephead and sturgeon. Even saw a perch make it to the boat last week. Try fishing near dropoffs in the 22-25 foot range. What area you planning to fish? You can find fish both in more shallow water than that and deeper. This is just the range I have had success in lately for better numbers of fish.
Expect to catch more sauger.
