Fished this AM at Kinni. Really slow. Two legals, one short and a couple of Sheepies. No silvers. How was it for everyone else?

Fished south of the Kinni is 15 to 20 feet, trolled leadcore with #7 raps and grappler shad being the prefered bait. Caught quite a few sauger but no legal eyes. 4 of the sauger went between 17 and 19 inches.

The bite turned on for me from 8 to 10:30. Saw a couple of other boats drift fishing but did not get a chance to talk and see what they were using.

Kept two of the Sauger for dinner and one of them burped up a shad the same size as a #7 rap.

I spoke with many people Sat and Sunday that fished from Hudson to the Kinni. All said the same this…couple here…one there.

Water temp today is 64, water’s coming down and if we don’t have any more cold fronts for a couple days we should be set for some action!

The sturgeon are in the channels…so if you hook a log…but it’s swimming away…you have until the 15th and it must be over 50 inches…jezz, just take a picture and let her go!

Crossin Eyes and I did really well on Sauger Sat. Kept 10 between 15-18″. Actually we didn’t even mean to keep that many. Thought we had 6-8 in the box. Caught about 3 times that many total. Jig and minnow.

Went out again Sunday – – Really slow. No fish – zero, zip, nada in the boat. We saw a couple fishing deep water, must have been 40′ catch a couple of legals, an nice sized channel cat and a flathead that must have been about 8 lbs. We sure stunk it up though.

Fished Saturday, caught 4 walleyes and 3 sauger 15-19″ with the usual dinks and silvers mixed in. All caught trolling raps.

Suzuki, were you fishing by prescott or Hudson? Nice size on the saugers. I figured you’d be out hunting. Thanks for the report. I’m going to try fishing friday morning for a few hours. Probably try by Bayport and Hudson. I think sometimes in the fall to getter bigger fish you need bigger bait. Anyone try using shiners for bigger eyes yet this fall yet?

I would love to use shiners but cannot get them around here. We tried walleye sized suckers with no real luck.
I was fishing near Prescott. I would like to get up by Hudson. Maybe next week. Too many options, not enough time.
I’ll be launching out of Prescott Fri morning at daybreak and possibly even this evening. I’ve been chasing silvers too. A weakness of mine. I love the way they hit.

    Hey Suzuki
I think I may be in the Prescott area on Friday morning so say Hi if you see a green Lund with a 90 Merc on it. Does anyone know if St. Croix Bluffs still opens at 6 and the docks are still in? If the weather gets good (read this as nasty) I would prefer to be in a duck blind but the weatherman makes Friday sound pretty dismal for duck hunters so I guess I’ll chase walleyes. Hopefully that Holst guy won’t read this post since in the past I have said I wouldn’t waste my time chasing walleyes during duck season. See what this site has done to me.

Suzuki, Gander in Lakeville had Shiners for me last weekend. . . Not that they did me a dang bit of good.
