A front page artical in the Stillwater Gazette’s Valley Life paper listed Beanie’s Annual River Rat Tournament next Saturday Sept 25. The artical was written by Ken Wisneski.
The highlight to the artical was a (I can’t believe I’m saying this) very good shot of Mr Turk holding a very nice St Croix eye. With that belly (of the fish not Turk’s), I would say a minimum of 7 lbs.
It seems that when fishing gets tough…Turk’s still hauling them in!
Turk took the heaviest stringer award last year with his partner Jason Hanks. 6 fish, 15 lbs. Ed Phipot took the biggest eye with a 6 lbs 15 ozer and Rob Mendlik took the Big/Ugly with a 31 lbs 6 oz flathead.
$20 bucks gets you in the tourny at 7 in the morning. Have your fish back at Beanies by 3 to take the money away from Turk! Drawings are to follow weigh in.
I’m going on the MN the night before and I’m hoping my wife will wake me up in time for sign in. Normally don’t like tournies, but to take a couple bucks out of Turks pocket…I’ll go sleepless!
Hope to meet some new faces with old handles out there
