Just wondering if anyone knows about a sauger population above the Taylors Falls dam?? I have yet to catch one and am starting to think there aren’t any to be had. Why is that? I’m starting to think maybe the Franconia area or Osceola is where I need to be to catch more numbers. I say that only because my experience is that when there are saugers around I usually catch about 2-1 (sauger vs. walleye). Its nice to catch a few eaters once in a while instead of 2 or 3 non-legal fish a night and maybe 1 legal every 2 nights. Any input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You will most likely have to head farther south than Osceola for saugers. The only saugers I have found in the area had been around fishing opener. I do catch one every so often during the summer but very few. Maybe in the bottoms of the deeper holes there might be a few. Plenty of small eyes in the Osceola area.
