St Croix No Wake Enforcement

I fished out of Bluffs Park this morning. Could not find the crappies. Water is 46 degrees and really high. The ramp to the west dock is under water and the east dock is still on land. I had knee boots and a long rope on my boat, so I didn’t have any trouble landing. I ran into the National Park Rangers and the Washington Co Sheriff (all nice guys). I think those who ignore the no wake posting on the landing are in for a surprise tomorrow.

    Good luck everyone!

Sounds like they will be watching for it. Good.

It never fails they are out in full force (Friday morning before opener) when noone if breaking the law. But come Saturday morning when many boats are ignoring the no wake, you won’t be able to find any law enforcement out there.

No kidding. Also, I really hope the National Parks guys were out there in their $300,000+ Midnight Express center console with the twin 250 Yammies on the back.

Cause if you’re going to patrol the St. Croix, that’s just what you need is a giant, overpriced, overpowered saltwater rig.

But hey, it’s only taxpayer’s money so who cares?

Under the heading of “I don’t wanna know”, I wonder how many of these rigs the NPS has on the Croix? Probably got a volume discount.

Hmmm The last time I was on the Croix for opener I was check twice for my fishing license.

My friend was checked three times by different Co’s.

    Times have changed?

I still usually see law enforcement on the Croix for opener. It just seems like you never see them when you wish you would (when someone is blowing through the channel areas or ignoring the no wake restrictions).

I saw the sheriff out Sunday between the Bluffs and the Kinni pulling boats over…Seems like they had them pulled over for awhile so i wonder if they got a ticket and not just a warning.

Now if they would have been on the North side of the kinni on Saturday they could have filled their ticket quota for the summer.
