Ha Ha, I figured I would get some attention to this thread with the subject line. I was on the croix for a couple of hours last night and mustered up 2 saugers dragging raps on the flats. Since I have started fishing the river, this time of year usually leaves me confused and frustrated. Can’t find the fish. Anyone having any luck? or ideas that they care to share?

Ritt, I haven’t been out for over a week, but did manage to get lunch this morning in a half hour. My wifes rod was set up for lindy rigging a worm..but it had a spinner (very small spinner) on it. Although I can’t say this is the ticket, it worked for me.

For location, I worked the edges of the flats….15 to 21 feet. Any shallower and the bass kicked in….

    Good luck!

Hey Brian, I’ve been concentrating on wingdams the last week or so, but I will make a charge on the croix this week. I have many spinners tied up, so I’ll give them a shot.

    See you on the water.
